Author Guidelines

GENERAL POLICYREVIEW OF MEDICAL PRACTICE (Rev. Med. Pract.) will consider for publication papers directly related togenaral practice in medicine after evaluation by tworeviewers.

THE REVIEW WILL COMPRISETHE FOLLOWING SECTIONS: Editorial and review articles. Contributions from expertsand specialists in the field, requested by the Editors.Original articles and research papers in medicalscience, as well new forms of therapy and diagnosticprocedures will be published after evaluation by twoindependent reviewers. Short communications. Description of clinical cases reporting exceptional results or symptoms. Maximum length 2–3 typewritten pages, double-spaced,1 figure and 1 table will be accepted, and referenceslimited to maximum 10 positions.

PREPARATION OF MANUSCRIPTS: Manuscripts should be word processed (Word Programme) or typewritten, double-spaced with amplemargins on both sides, and pages should be num-bered. First mention of tables and figures shouldbe indicated in the right-hand margin of the text. Maximum length 15 pages. It is also necessary to include a written consent forthe publication from each of authors’ department andclinic heads, as well as a Declaration of Conflict ofInterest (signed by all authors) and determination ofparticipation in the work by giving the name with: A – research concept and design, B – collection andassembly of data, C – data analysis and interpre-tation, D – writing the article, E – critical revision ofthe article, F – final approval of article.

Title page. Should contain the full title, a brief runningtitle, full name of author(s), institutional affiliation ofauthor(s), and name and mailing address of the au-thor to whom all correspondence should be directed.

Summary in English and in Polish. The major pointsof the article shouId be summarized in 150-250 words,in order of their appearance in the manuscript. Materialor facts not cited in the text should not be included.

Key words. Three to five key words or brief phrasesshould be included after the Summary for indexing purposes.

References. All references should be numbered con-secutively throughout the text or numbered in alpha-betical order and enclosed in parentheses. Journal abbreviations should follow the norms of Current Contents. The name(s) of authors should be followed by the complete title of the paper, abbreviatedjournal`s title, year, volume and first and last pagenumber. When citing an article from a book, author(s) name(s) should be followed by complete title of thepaper, title of book, volume number, editor(s) name(s), name and address of the publisher, year andfirst and last page numbers, e.g.:

Proofs. Page proofs will be sent to the author to whomall correspondence should be addressed unlessotherwise specified by the authors. Proofs should bechecked against the original. Authors will be chargedfor major alterations in the original text. Proofs notreturned in time to meet publication date will either berescheduled or published without authors' corrections,in which the Editors do not assume responsibility forany errors that might have been made in typesetting. Proofs may be returned by e-mail or fax.

Reprints. After the publication of the article a maximum 3 copies of the journal will be sent to the address ofthe first author.
