PRIVACY POLICY
Journal Portal Review of Medical Practice

 


The Lazarski University Publishing House in Warsaw ("UŁ") attaches particular importance to respecting the privacy of the users of the "medicalpractice.lazarski.pl" portal, hereinafter referred to as the "Portal". Therefore, the University of Lodz implements the following Privacy Policy and encourages each user of the website to read it:

1. By using the Portal, the user accepts this Privacy Policy.

2. Personal data on the Portal may be collected through the following activities:

- information provided or attached by the User via the Contact Forms on the Scientific Journals Portal,
- information provided during registration of the User Account,
- information provided or attached in the attachments sent
- information collected automatically when using the Portal, i.e.:

- information saved automatically in the server and Portal logs, e.g. IP address, page request sent by the user, date and time of the request, browser type, browser language, device data, operating system type,

- "cookies" files - small text files sent by the Portal to the device of the user visiting the Portal (e.g. computer, smartphone).

3. Information collected automatically is used for the following purposes:

-  administration of servers and the Portal,
-  ensuring security and protection of data and the Portal,
-  providing the user with specific services,
-  adapting the Portal to the needs of users,
-  creating viewing statistics of the Portal's subpages,
-  maintaining the user's session (after logging in), thanks to which the user does not have to re-enter the Login and Password on each subpage of the website.

4. Cookies are used for the following purposes:

-  ensuring the correct operation of the Portal's websites in the user's browser,
-  make it easier for the user to use the Portal and adapt it to the user's needs,
-   memorizing individual user settings and preferences,
-  create statistics of the Portal that enable learning about the expectations of users and development of the Portal so as to facilitate access to the most frequently sought information (e.g. by analyzing queries from search engines).

5. Web browsers usually allow the storage of "cookies" on the user's device by default.

6. Examples of "cookies" and their use on the Portal:

-   "Cookies" files used to determine website popularity statistics, the number of visits and the distribution of visits over time (Google Analitycs: __utma, __utmc, __utmz),
-   "Cookies" files set by the application server, granted on the first visit to the Portal, deleted after a certain period of inactivity or as a result of completing a predetermined activity on the Portal, e.g. leaving the website, closing the browser, logging out (JSESSIONID, LFR_SESSION_STATE),
-  Dedicated "cookies" set by templates:
- used to remember preferences for font size, contrast (contrast, text-size)
- used to remember language preferences

7. The user has the option of configuring his own web browser so as to completely or partially disable the storage of "cookies" on the device. Disabling the storage of "cookies" may cause some functions of the Portal to not work properly.

 


How to block cookies:

The user can decide to save or not to save "cookies" in the browser settings.

Cookie settings are set separately in each browser.

8. When using the Portal, some of the user's data may be automatically collected and processed by tools of external entities used by the University of Lodz. For statistical purposes, we use the Google Analytics tool, which operates on the basis of its own "cookies". In addition, the following may be used: plug-ins, buttons or other tools to share content on social media portals
